There are eagles here all year round. But come springtime the population seems to swell. I love seeing these raptors and how they live and interact. Yesterday I had some time to kill - I took my wife to an appointment and it was going to be a little while before she was done. So I took a short walk to the harbor. There were some herring or some salmon fry in the harbor and the eagles were feasting. It was exciting to see them swooping in to grab a meal, usually unsuccessful. But they got their fair share. One landed even in the rocks below my feet with his small fish, which was promptly eaten up. I got a few shots but my stay was brief, I had to go.
